Partnership project HAI and ASTI

Press release of the project "Spreading the access for older people to the services of social defense and health care by creation effective models of social partnership and participation
of civil society in the processes of development " 

In the framework of financing European Commission new project "Spreading the access for older people to the services of social defense and health care by creation effective models of social partnership and participation of civil society in the processes of development " is starting in partnership ASTI and HAI.

Project will  be implemented in Asht district, Sughd Province of Tajikistan by Help Age International (HAI) and Association of Scientific and Technical Intelligentsia (ASTI), during 18 months. Total amount of project's budget is 91.482, 75 €.

The main goal of the project is reduction of poverty among vulnerable groups in Tajikistan at the expense of sustainable development.

- integration of older people into society, in which they will have opportunity share with their experience and vote in the process of development in local level and on decision-making on politics issues; 

- the network of professional Organizations of Civil Societies with wider possibilities to present and mobilize more citizens.

  For achieve the goals of the project, during 18 months, activities of the project will focus in 28 targeted Mahalla Committees of 4 Jamoats: Shaidon, Kirk - Kuduk, Oshoba, Kamish-Kurghon of Asht DC, providing:  

- informing and training older peoples on collecting data about access to main services and benefits of data collection, as National Strategy of Development and Strategy of Poverty Reduction, and also presentation of these data to local authority and providers of services;

- instruction and support local authority of Asht district on output of mechanisms, which will promote them more effectively react to problems which older people and other vulnerable groups are faced;

- instruction for members of mahalla committees to define vulnerability of poor and rural communities, also usage of local resources to response for problems which ordinary members of the society faced. 

Expected outcomes of current project: 

- groups of older peoples have organized, which will realize monitoring of access to main services and resources by older people;

- raised potential of local government structures for work in partnership with community and vulnerable groups of population on solving the problems of poverty and their isolation; 

- raised potential of tradition community structures (mahallaa committees) on identification and direct response to needs of vulnerable groups of population.
