Prevention of radicalism

Within the framework of the project “Mainstreaming youth policy against radicalism” which is being implemented since December 2010 PO ASTI jointly with “International Alert” held a one-day camp under the slogan “Prevention of radicalism” on June 13 in B. Gafurov and on June 17 in Asht districts of Sughd region.

The aim of the one-day camp: attract young people to the prevention of radicalism, the development of the concept by youth groups, as well as the development of methods to combat radicalism. Participants of the meeting were representatives of local authorities, community leaders, religious leaders and youth groups of three target jamoats. 

In the first half of the day a meeting was held where representatives of local authorities, representatives of the Youth Committee of Sports and Tourism of the target districts, the representative of the organization International Alert, and representatives of PO ASTI made speech. Then the participants were divided into groups according to jamoats, and they were given the task to develop a program that will focus on the concept of prevention and fight against radicalism. Further participants made program presentations.

To fix the themes of passed seminars a quiz on “Human rights, secular and religious rights” and “Pluralism in the context of national and world religions” was conducted by organizers. The most active participants of the quiz were awarded prizes. 

Also camp program included sports activities such as football, volleyball, checkers and arm wrestling.

 In the end, the winners of sport events were awarded prizes.

 At the end of the day, participants of the event gathered and expressed their gratitude to the organizers of the one-day camp, as well as expressed hope for continuation of such events.

Free training course "Cookery" continues
