Project "Poverty Alleviation in Tajikistan through Education and Non-formal Training (PATENT)"

In the  framework  of European Commission program "To alleviate poverty through employment and income generation in Sughd and Khatlon regions of Tajikistan"  a new project " Poverty Alleviation in Tajikistan through Education and Non-formal Training (PATENT)" is starting.

Project will implement in Sughd and Khatlon provinces of Tajikistan during 24 months by the Institute for International Cooperation of the German Adult Education Association (dvv international) and Association of Scientific and Technical Intelligentsia of Tajikistan (ASTI). Project  PATENT is providing jointly by  European Commission and Federal Department on Economic Cooperation and Development of German.

The main aim of the project is solving the problems of  unemployment and poverty by ensuring the access to the system of vocational technical training the wide groups of adult population. By using and strengthening existed   vocational schools, project will develop innovation training programs for adults in Sughd and Khatlon provinces. 

During implementation of project's activities there will be realize arrangements, which can divide to the 4 main groups:

1. Training of unqualified category of adult population or persons interested to re-qualify their profession in short-term three-months courses, which are  in requisition in Tajikistan's  labor-market, including providing short-term courses with needed equipment and teaching materials. Resource base  of 10 selected VET-schools in towns and districts of Sughd and Khatlon provinces will use for conducting  short-term courses.       

2.  Activities, which bring contribution in strengthening vocational technical training in a hole: training courses for management and pedagogical staff of 10 VET-schools, development of manuals on modern methods of teaching and management. 

3.  Activities related to establishment the  system  of consulting  services for the population: business-planning and teaching,  job counseling of school-leavers.  

4. Activities, which will promote to improve image of renewed vocational technical training system in Tajik society.

Project will implement in close collaboration with Ministry of Education, Ministry of Labor and Social Defence of Population, also with local authority, placement services, employers and other social partners. 

By the termination of the project 2000 persons will directly benefited, by receiving professional skills during the project's implementation; 10 selected VET-schools can independently develop and conduct   vocational trainings which are  in requisition; there will establish mechanism of settled partnership and  network cooperation between vocational schools,  local and government  authorities,  social partners. Consequently, possibilities of vocational education and non-formal training will better realized by wide groups of population.

Tajik youth had a trip to Maksad

Today in the school of Maksad jamoat, KR the Festival of friendship of the inhabitants of the bordering villages was held: Ovchi - kalacha and Maksad. The event was held by the Public Foundation for International Tolerance in Kyrgyzstan in partnership with the Association of Scientific and Technical Intelligentsia of Tajikistan with the support of the United Nations Development Program in the framework of the project Strengthening cooperation between the youth of the border communities of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan”.

PO ASTI carried out two-days training for judges in B. Gafurov district of Soghd region on February 14-15, 2022 within the framework of the project “To build the capacity and increase the gender sensitivity of Judges, Police Officers and state legal aid lawyers for more effective investigation, prosecution and adjudication of SGBV related cases".
