Monitoring of the Poverty Reduction Strategy

The project "Monitoring of Poverty Reduction Strategy", is realized with the support of the ACT Central Asia and is aimed at promoting civil society participation in monitoring national programs, the institutionalization of public monitoring and improving the effectiveness of development programs.

Activities performed under this project will allow civil society representatives to take part in practical design, implementation and monitoring of national development programs on the example of the PRS for 2010-2012, and will promote the transition to a new level of Cooperation Group activities and the role of Organizations of Civil Society in development processes of the country. Cooperation Group partners will be able to develop the skills obtained in sites, unite Organizations of Civil Society in regions to work on a macro level, the local community through the representatives of the People's Network Analysts will be timely informed of the ongoing government development programs. As a result of implemented activity will be determined the place and role of civil society in a system of monitoring and evaluation of medium-term development programs. Moreover, the participation of civil society organizations and representatives of local communities in monitoring the implementation of PRS will help reflect the true picture of poverty in the country, reports on the implementation of the strategic development programs will be presented to the public.

Created in the regions the resource-information corners, which will have access to the country's ongoing strategic documents, normative legal documents, periodicals of information materials on the implementation and monitoring of medium-term development programs will help solve the problem of information gap of representatives of local governments and local communities , raise awareness of citizens about the existence of these documents and an interest to achievement in their implementation, to help increase the responsibility of state institutions for the success in achieving goals and objectives of government programs.

Consolidation of public organizations to the Cooperation Group on development, implementation and monitoring of national development programs and joint efforts 12 (in 2009 6 organizations have jointed the Group Cooperation) public organizations are effective mechanism for sustainable involvement of civil society representatives in monitoring the implementation of national development programs, as well as a tool for obtaining the true indicators of changes in poverty levels and qualitative changes at the community level.
