Mini forums were organized

On March 29, 2022 in Dushanbe and on March 30, 2022 in Rudaki mini forums were organized with involvement of the service providers, as legal, health, social services and women resource centers. The participants developed a set of measures to interact and strengthen cooperation between all services that aim to prevent domestic violence and provide with free legal, social, medical services. Mini forums were carried out in partnership with the committee on women and family affairs of Isfara within the framework of the project “To build the capacity and increase the gender sensitivity of Judges, Police Officers and state legal aid lawyers for more effective investigation, prosecution and adjudication of SGBV related cases". The project is part of the Spotlight Initiative, which aims to end all forms of violence against women and girls by 2030, as part of a multi-year global partnership between the European Union and the United Nations.

Pandemic as a cause of the increase of domestic violence

The spread of COVID-19 in Tajikistan particularly in the Sughd region, has led to an increase in the number of cases related to domestic violence. One of the reasons for the drastical increase of aggression in families is a pandemic. Thus, experience shows that burnout syndrome, aggression, and panic attack are growing among the population.
