The history of women’s club Shukrona

From the story of Martina Kviatkovska, the coordinator of the project FED

The activity of Women’s club Shukrona is well-known in the village of MOPR and neighboring villages. Women are well-known for their pastries, as well as the art of women's clothing. Therefore, they are constantly busy. Women's club Shukrona was invited to participate in the exhibition of arts and crafts on the occasion of Family Day. The exhibition was held May 15, 2015 in the town of Vakhsh. Women proudly presented their cakes. Their work has been featured in a television program on one of the local channels. For baking often they use dried fruit. The leader of the club - Malokhat Odinaeva, stressed that since the establishment of the club was not a professional seamstress. It was only in 2014, Dilbar Giyasova and Mavchigul Fahridinova took part in the 10-day course of training sewing. They taught the other members of the group. Mavchigul Fakhritdinova already has sewing classes for young girls. 10 students come daily to her house, where she meets three hours of training. Monthly rate is 50 somoni, of which 20 somoni gives Mavchigul in the club fund. The club receives a lot of orders from the neighboring villages. The most common orders are traditional female costumes, embroidered pillows. Women have decided that every winter will be working in your home, so that sewing machines were distributed among members. As a last year, in the winter they plan to plant potatoes and dig them in the spring. The last harvest was very large - part of it was sold, and the proceeds income to fund the club. This year, women’s club Shukrona wants to build three greenhouses. As part of a small grant from the project "The Power of women in women's clubs. Entrepreneurship in practice, "they built two greenhouses at the farm Muslim Rakhmonov. Construction costs will be paid by the Club Foundation. Visiting the village Zarnisor and exchanging of experience with women's club Umed expanded their knowledge on the construction of greenhouses and processes for the production of vegetables. In the construction of greenhouses will participate brother of one of the women Tashakkul, who previously served as such orders. Many of the members are widowed or divorced. The club is well known and appreciated in the village of MOPR, so many people have offered their help. Women's dream is to build a greenhouse on a farm of each 12 members.
