Tajik youth had a trip to Maksad

 In the first half of the day, a caravan of friendship came from Tajikistan to Kyrgyzstan. Youth contact group of Kyrgyzstan (YCG) met their peers under the flag of both countries, with bread and salt.

Today in the school of Maksad jamoat, KR the Festival of friendship of the inhabitants of the bordering villages was held: Ovchi - kalacha and Maksad. The event was held by the Public Foundation for International Tolerance in Kyrgyzstan in partnership with the Association of Scientific and Technical Intelligentsia of Tajikistan with the support of the United Nations Development Program in the framework of the project Strengthening cooperation between the youth of the border communities of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan”.

This project makes a great contribution to the stability of friendship, the recognition of peoples, the acquaintance of young people with the culture of the border state, said Abdulakim Nadirov, deputy director of the school on educational work in Maksad village. He added: The future is in the hands of young people, they can change the attitude of each other in a positive direction. Already in the framework of this project, they laid the foundation stone of friendship.

Participant of the festival Davlat Rakhmatov, a pupil of the school No. 8 of Ovchi-kalacha jamoat, who often sees his Kyrgyz friends on TV, notes: This was my first visit to a neighboring country. Before this festival, I even had no idea that I would be in contact with them. Today I understand that friendship between Tajiks and Kyrgyz is very important, because we live in the neighborhood with each other, and peace and calm in the family and in our lives is the peace”.

Davlat Rakhmatov’s peer Eliza Kattabekyzy, from school No. 4 of the KR, who danced with her new friends from Tajikistan at the end of the event, expressed her impressions: “only in this festival I saw that Tajiks beautifully dance under our songs and perform them in our language. Our musical program included numbers from the Tajik culture, which were warmly nwelcomed by our neighbors. Although we have different names, but we have similar cultures and therefore, friendship should be an inseparable part of our life.

At the end, Batken's YCG member presented souvenirs to guests from Sughd region.
