The first meeting of Ayni District Coordination Committee on issues related to people with disabilities

The members of Ayni District Coordination Committee on issues related to people with disabilities met on May 28, 2018 to discuss the implementation progress of the Project on supporting civil society in applying community based rehabilitation for people with disabilities in Ayni district (the Project), which is funded by the European Union and Caritas Germany and implemented jointly with the Local Government Authority of Ayni district and Public Organizations “ASTI” and “DARO”. Application of best practices of Devashtich district on community-based rehabilitation, admission of people with disabilities to membership of the District Coordination Committee and the results of the door-to-door survey to identify the number and the needs of people with disabilities were high on the agenda. The District Primary Health Care Institution was assigned to manage Community-Based Rehabilitation program in Ayni district. The participants also discussed the Project’s upcoming activities for the next three months and expressed readiness for their implementation.

US Embassy in Tajikistan supports project on preventing domestic violence
