MEETING OF YOUTH FROM BORDER VILLAGES OF KYRGYZSTAN AND TAJIKISTAN

On February 24, in Ovchi Qalacha village of Bobojon Gafurov district an event under the title “Pilaf of friendship” was held within the framework of the project “Strengthening cooperation of youth in the border communities of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan” implemented by PO ASTI in partnership with the Kyrgyz organization Foundation for Tolerance International and supported by UNDP.

Members of the Youth Contact Group (YCG) of Ovchi Qalacha village accepted guests from the border villages of Kyrgyzstan Kulundu, International and Maksat: YCG members, representatives of local authorities. At the event, the young people of four neighboring villages presented to residents and representatives of local government structures a joint action plan, which was developed during the cross-border camp in January 2017. During the presentation, a member of the YCG from Ovchi Qalacha village Mavlidinov Parviz addressed the audience of the event, representatives of the community, local government structures to support the implementation of the activities of joint plans of action.

The meeting will include a festive concert, spots of which have been prepared by the youth of four villages and on its completion members of YCG invited guests and participants of the event to the holiday “Pilaf of friendship”. At the table, young people discussed the implementation of the plans of the upcoming events.

It is important to note that the meeting of young people, members of YCG from Ovchi Qalacha and International villages, have become traditional and are held regularly. Youth invite each other to visit and eat pilaf, play soccer, volleyball, created a group in vayber, where they discuss among themselves plans of events and till the end of May they will jointly hold several events in their villages with the participation of local residents.

Such youth meetings are held on these days in all target communities, where the project is implemented.
