Meeting of the Assistance Group

On 18 -19 May in Khujand, a working meeting of heads and key employees of the 19 public organizations working in different regions of Tajikistan and the members of Assistance Group on the implementation and monitoring of national development programs.

There were discussed some key sections of the Poverty Reduction Strategy to 2010 - 2012 years, adopted by the Government of the country and developed preliminary plans for monitoring by civil society organizations of the implementation of several paragraphs of the document.

As in 2009, 7 new members entered to the Group, an additional, second in a row, Memorandum of cooperation and understanding between the organizations - partners of the Assistance Group was concluded and signed at this meeting.

The current activity was organized by the Association of the Scientific - Technical Intelligentsia of Tajikistan, coordinating the activities of the Assistance Group, and was part of the project "Promotion of participation of CSO in the monitoring of governmental programs," which is being implemented with the support of ACT CA and DFID.
