Despite the achievements in the field of education, the world remains

“Despite the achievements in the field of education, the world remains cruel and extremely discriminatory against girls” with these words, a regular meeting began in the city of Khujand with the participation of residents of 33-34 microdistricts. The purpose of this event is to raise public awareness of the importance of educating girls and their role in society.
It is well known that investing in girls' education plays an important role in developing societies, empowering them and enhancing their participation in society.
Despite the fact that secondary education in Tajikistan is free, a large number of girls do not attend school: only 64% of girls move from lower grades to senior ones, compared with 86% of boys. The level of higher education is also relatively low: only 18% of the population have access to higher education, which is 2.5 times lower than in the developed countries of Europe and Central Asia.
Also, the problem of domestic violence and human trafficking was discussed. Examples were given to consolidate the provided material.
This event is held by PO "ASTI" in the framework of the project "Women's Resource Center" with the support of the OSCE Program Office in Dushanbe.
