Today at the meeting of the psychological support for mothers of children with Down syndrome, the topic of violence against women, in particular, mothers of special children, was proposed for a discussion. The violent relationships in families were carried out as today’s example, which allowed to reveal a chain of evil and cruelty, leading to negative consequences. The participants of the meeting shared with their sad experiences in dealing with violence due to the birth of sunny children in their families. They spoke about stereotypes and false beliefs of society that prevent people from understanding and accepting children / people who are different from us.
There were questions regarding the divorce, the division of property, the adoption, the establishment of paternity and the determination of the place of residence for the child with one of the parents. These are just a fraction of the problems women face as a result of domestic violence…
