Tajik youth got a ticket to Kyrgyzstan for “Minute of Fame”

After making a one-minute performance 11 people, the residents of the border village of Ovchi-Kalacha, Babajan Gafurov district became winners.

Today in the club of school No. 8 of Ovchi-Kalacha village, with the initiative of the Youth Contact Group (YCG), a contest under the title “Minute of Fame”, was held where representatives of PO ASTI and PF “For Tolerance International” attended. The event was held within the framework of the project “Strengthening cooperation of youth in the border communities of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan”, implemented by PO ASTI in partnership with the PF “For Tolerance International” with the support of UNDP Tajikistan.

14 young people participated in the contest with dance, musical numbers. They played in musical instruments, read poems, and answered questions. Only 11 people went to the final.

One of the winners of the competition Razykov Kabir, a second-year student at the Khujand College of Arts, says:

- It's very difficult for me to express my emotions. I am very happy, and feeling free,  thanks to this project I had the opportunity to show my creativity. I played on my rubab in one scene with my Kyrgyz peer. This project became a key to the difficulties for young people in the border areas of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. I hope that our friendship, which began in the framework of these events, will become inseparable.

The host side, a member of the YCG of  Kyrgyz village Kulundu, Asrolov Azamat said:

- the final stage of the contest will be held with the participation of the stars of the Kyrgyz estrade. Both countries have per three prize places.

The total prize fund is 70 000 soms of Kyrgyzstan, which is 9000 somoni of Tajikistan.

The final of the contest will be held on May 12, 2017 in the village of Kulundu KR.
