Cooperation Group monitoring of national development programs

On October 7, Dushanbe, in the conference hall of “Poytaht” BC, held a working meeting of the Group of Cooperation with the representatives of Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, where they discussed issues of practical participation of CSOs in monitoring the Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRS), adopted by the Government of Tajikistan.

Cooperation Group on monitoring the Poverty Reduction Strategy, which includes 19 civil society organizations from different regions of Tajikistan, presented to MEDT approach and methodology they use for public monitoring of the PRS.

As emphasized partner of CG: "This monitoring - it is an intermediate stage of monitoring of implementation of a number of selected measures of PRS and assess the impact of implementation of the Strategy on life quality of 420 focus families living in 30 cities and districts of our country. In these districts the level of people's access to health care, education, recreation, employment, nutrition, etc. in 2010 has been studied. The dynamics of development of these families will be studied until 2012, which allows tracking more qualitative the impact of ongoing development programs in the lives of ordinary people.”

During the working meeting participants were presented on the experience of Cooperation Group, on the results of its work on conducted public monitoring and published analytical reports on conducted research.

Further, participants discussed and reviewed aspects of cooperation of CSOs with MEDT.

In this meeting the representatives of international organizations, journalists and NGO leaders took part.
