Festival of friendship to commemorate Navruz holiday

The Youth Contact Group (YCG) of Ovchi-kalacha jamoat organized and conducted “Festival of Friendship” to commemorate Navruz holiday. At school number 8, the administration of which supports the initiatives of youth in the village, on March 18, 2017, met guests from neighboring villages Maksat, International and Kulundu, members of YCG and representatives of local authorities, activists and village elders. Together with guests, with the purpose of exchanging visit, members of YCG from the villages of Batken district came to study the experience of cooperation between the Ovchi-kalacha youth contact groups and three Kyrgyz villages.

Before the entrance to the school club, an exhibition of drawings of the winners of the contest for the best drawing among the schoolchildren of the target schools of the project “Peace and Cooperation Begins With Us” was organized by PO ASTI with the financial support of UNICEF Tajikistan.

Guests were greeted with traditional bread with salt and dishes of national Tajik cuisine. Women-handicraftsmen prepared an exhibition for the sale of handicrafts. Members of Ovchi-kalacha YCG prepared a festive concert program in which both, the youth of the village and schoolchildren participated. Guests from Kyrgyzstan also showed concert numbers. During the concert songs were sung in Tajik, Kyrgyz and Russian languages, national and modern dances were performed.
