"Association of Scientific and Technical Intelligentsia of Tajikistan" – is a non-government, nonprofit Public Organization promoting the development of democratic reforms and improvement of quality of life of the citizens in the Republic of Tajikistan, through the effective use the potential of scientific and technical intelligentsia and strengthening the role of non-profit sector by realizing of social, informational, coordinating, educational, consulting programs.
In May 2019, PO ASTI start implementing the project «Supporting and Strengthening Women's Resource Centres in Tajikistan" with the support of the Program Office OSCE in Dushanbe.
Targeting at least 2 communities of:
1. Bobojon Gafurov
2. Khujand city
The main objectives of the project are:
- promote gender equality in the Republic of Tajikistan
- promote the economic empowerment of women and girls
- defend women's rights and ensure the availability of public services, as well as expand access to and impact of community education and consultation in the field of housing, family law, employment, property and registration rights for women and their families.
Within the project it is planned:
- provide free legal and psychosocial consultation to victims of domestic violence;
- organize mobile consultations of a psychologist and a lawyer in the target areas of the project, which will allow rural women to share their problems and needs;
- develop successful practical approaches to awareness-raising activities, such as the use of information materials: articles, brochures, videos for public or group discussions;
- empower women through basic vocational courses and providing information for new programming skills in access to services and rights.
